Why We Started Pixie Pals Co: A Story About Family, Memories and a Little Magic

Have you ever returned from a vacation and found yourself smiling at a random photo months later? We have.

As sisters, some of our favorite memories have been made while traveling together, whether that be Disney adventures, girls' trips, or everything in between. Over the years, we became the people our friends and family called when they needed help planning a vacation.

Growing up, we were a family of five—Mom, Dad, and three sisters. Some of our favorite childhood memories were made on family vacations. We took road trips to visit relatives, explore new places, and seek out a little adventure along the way. One of our favorite destinations was Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where we went ice skating, bungee jumping, and sampled sweet, sticky taffy.

The journey was often just as memorable as the destination. We spent hours in the car listening to the music Mom and Dad loved. We had a cassette tape with Paul Anka on one side and Neil Sedaka on the other that seemed to make an appearance on every road trip. Somewhere between the miles, those songs became our favorites too. Even now, hearing certain songs can instantly transport us back to the backseat of the family van, watching the scenery roll by and wondering what adventure was waiting for us around the next bend.

One of our favorite memories was knowing Dad was smiling without ever seeing his face. As kids, we'd be chatting and laughing in the backseat, and every once in a while we'd notice his ears move. That was all the confirmation we needed that he was listening and that he thought one of us was funny. Looking back, it's such a small detail, but it's one of the things we remember most about those family road trips.

It's also a reminder that the moments that stay with us aren't always the biggest ones. Sometimes they're the conversations, the laughter, and the people we share the journey with. Those experiences shaped the way we think about travel today.

We love planning the big picture, the small details, and the sweet moments that make a trip memorable. Because at the end of the day, we're not just creating itineraries, we're helping create memories.
